Lightweight Hammer Forged Barrel, Midlength, .750 Gas Journal w/alignment notch for use with our TABBED gas blocks (non-tabbed gas blocks will still work.)

In-house pinned gas block is a tabbed,"ultra low profile", pin-only, gas block with no need for set screws, and has no threaded holes for them.  We now use a heavy duty, double coiled spring pin which can be driven in/out in either direction, instead of the old taper pin.

Cold Hammer Forged Barrels

Hammer forging is a process in which a drilled, reamed and honed blank has the rifling formed into it by placing the barrel blank on a mandrel that has the rifling ground into its outer surface. The blank and mandrel are then placed between two opposing power hammers and the blank is beaten around the mandrel leaving the rifling pattern in the barrel. This process leaves an extremely smooth and consistent surface on the inside of the barrel, that lends itself to excellent accuracy. The forging process also work hardens the barrel steel causing a very durable and much longer lasting barrel. Our barrels have a slight taper to the bore during the hammer forging process to ensure better accuracy.

Chrome lined chamber and bore

The hard chrome used to coat the chamber and bore are harder than the barrel steel itself. This aids in longevity and also reduces fouling and corrosion often seen in austere field conditions. Chrome also aids in chambering, extraction, and overall reliability of the weapon. Thus, giving the operator a more reliable weapon with less maintenance. We have our chrome lining applied to twice the thickness of standard small arms barrels.

Barrel steel

The steel used in our hammer forged barrels was specifically developed as machine gun barrel steel to help increase the barrel life under prolonged rigorous firing schedules.

Twist rate

We use a 1/7 (1 turn in 7 inches) twist rate in all our barrels. This is the best overall twist rate for this weapons system. The 1/7 twist will stabilize any of the light weight 5.56 bullets as well as any other twist. This twist will also stabilize the newer heavier bullets that are being used allowing the operator to get the best performance out of this weapon system.

Chamber

We use a true 5.56 chamber in our barrels allowing the operator the ability to use the higher pressure military ammunition on the market and helping to enhance reliability.

Feed ramps

Our barrels are supplied with extended M4 style feed ramps to enhance overall feeding and weapons reliability.

Finish

The barrel finish we use is a manganese phosphate finish (Mil-Spec A-A-59267). This finish allows for better absorption of oils to help prevent corrosion. These barrels are all finished prior to any gas blocks being mounted to ensure the entire surface is covered to maximum protection even under the gas block.

HPT/MP inspected

HPT(high pressure test) is a process where a proof load rated at 70,000 psi, far exceeding a normal round, is fired trough the barrel then the barrel is MPI (Magnetic Particle Inspected) to detect any flaws in the barrel steel from the proof load. These are standard quality assurance tests performed on all our hammer forged barrels to ensure the highest quality product.

    Wow

Just phenomenal quality, crashmanship, and design. This thing is also a tack driver without being a pig to carry around. Perfectly gassed with an H2 buffer. You'd be hard pressed to find a better barrel for the money. Top tier stuff, and top tier customer service. Many more of these barrels will be in future builds

    Excellent

I have had this 16" barrel for more than a year and over 2k rounds later and it is still a laser beam. Gassed right and great balance you will love the way your carbine handles and shoots.
Don't think about it just get one and add in gas block and feed ramp polish.
Thank you Centurion and Thank You Corrie for the order updates.

    Barrel

I find centurion chf barrels to be of tge highest quality. Finish is flawless, engraving is a nice added touch and customer service is always top notch. The gas block design with locating tab is one of the best designs out there a d simple. Set screw dimples are already there for bith screws and threads are concentric from what i can measure. Would buy another(in fact i will be)

    Fantastic Quality

I installed the barrel about a week ago with a good friend of mine. The notch interface for the tabbed gas block worked PERFECTLY. I also noticed that Centurion dimpled the barrel for the set screws in two places with identical depth. This made the gas block installation almost child’s play. I’ve only ever seen manufacturers put ONE simple for the set screws! I headspaced my barrel to my BCM bolt and it passed a 5.56 NATO go. Having looked down the bore, I was pleasantly surprised to see carbon fouling from where the barrel had been test fired which gave me a warm fuzzy! The threads for the muzzle device were also cut with perfection and accepted my A2 perfectly without any issues. I haven’t shot the gun yet, but I’m extremely excited to get my rifle sighted in and ready to shoot!

    New favorite rifle

Im using a 12.5in with a cmr 11in rail , centurion upper and bcg. The balance is damn near perfect, the finish on the barrel and chamber are flawless, with 69 grain smk it consistently puts up 1-1.5 moa groups at 100 yards. Im around 2k rounds in and its by far my favorite rifle over rifles like Bcm,DD, Geissele, lmt and even my larue. Its so balanced and accurate its a absolute joy to shoot.

    16” Hammer Forged Barrel

Best barrels I’ve owned. Sub MOA on all three. Runs great suppressed an unsuppressed.
